Elmer Damaso

What is your name?
Elmer A. Damaso
How long have you been making comic books?
I started making comics since 2000 (Culture Crash).
Are you a full-time comic book creator or do you have a day job?
I’m not sure if I can call myself a full-time comic book creator since I also do character/concept designs and spot illustrations for various companies/individuals at the same time.
If you have a day job what is it?
I work freelance on a variety of jobs right now.
What comic book project are most known for?
I would have to say my work, Cat’s Trail (creator-artist) and One Day Isang Diwa (artist) for Culture Crash comics.
How did you discover comic books?
I was a casual buyer of local comic books (Funny Komiks) and US comic books when I was in elementary way back in the 80’s. It was not until I was a sophomore in college when I started buying a lot of Marvel’s X-titles and several other comics. A couple of years later, I shifted to buying manga or Japanese comics. Currently, I don’t buy comics much anymore. Just some very select titles I am most interested in and some of the local indie comics. I borrow comics when I can. Hehe!
