Being a multi-disciplinary company, it became a challenge how to accurately reflect that in our website.

The biggest hurdle was actually trying to decide what the over-all look of the site is going to be.

Most websites nowadays tend to all sport the same get-up, something I’ve dubbed the Apple Interface style which tends to go for mostly clean interfaces and subdued colors with some tasteful graphics carefully positioned somewhere in the design.

I’m sure you’ve encountered this type of design.

There’s really nothing wrong with this look. In fact I’ve had my fair share of design work that utilized the style and the clients were pretty happy with what they got.

Chiz Escudero.

Originally a free concert, the recent tragedies brought by Typhoon Ondoy and Pepeng made the organizers decided to turn it into a fund raising event.

With four of the Philippines’ biggest rock acts doing four separate venues all over the country, it promises to be a show to remember.

And yes…you read that right. Four venues.

BAMBOO will be at Manila at Liwasang Ullalim (besides Folk Arts Theatre), IMAGO will be doing the show at Dagupan in the CSI Stadium, SPONGECOLA wll be bringing the house down at Davao at the Darmost Market Basket Parking Lot, and CUESHE will be at Iloilo at the Iloilo Freedom Grandstand.

All you need to get in is bring canned goods, clothes, or anything you’re willing to part with to be given as part of the relief operations to our less fortunate brothers and sisters affected by the two Typhoons that visited the Philippines recently.

Heck, even Php1.00 will do. Every little thing will go a long way.

All proceeds of the concerts will go to the victims of Ondoy and Pepeng.

In the event you can’t go, you guys can also watch the concerts via live streaming here.

It’s significant to me because this is one of the first times that the animated style that I’ve developed (most apparent in my GRAPHIC DETAIL comic strips) has been used.

Anyway, Carrie Giver was created to be the superhero for Care Givers (Carrie Giver…Care Giver…get it?).

This illustration was originally drawn on A4 paper using graphite pencil and various UNIpin Technical Pens of varying points. The colors and texts was added later in Adobe Photoshop.

Click on the thumbnail for a bigger image.

“The US Department of Labor (DOL) fosters and promotes the welfare of the job seekers, wage earners, and retirees of the United States by improving their working conditions, advancing their opportunities for profitable employment, protecting their retirement and health care benefits, helping employers find workers, strengthening free collective bargaining, and tracking changes in employment, prices, and other national economic measurements.

In carrying out this mission, the Department administers a variety of Federal labor laws including those that guarantee workers’ rights to safe and healthful working conditions; a minimum hourly wage and overtime pay; freedom from employment discrimination; unemployment insurance; and other income support.”
