A Great Place for Art Materials!
by Jonas Diego
I was just planning to buy some colored leads for my MARS Lumograph clutch pencil to tell you the truth, nothing really fancy. I ended up getting a Cretacolor Ergonomic 5.6 mm clutch pencil, 5.6 mm dark sepia lead refills, and a Cretacolor calligraphy ink in addition to the leads for my MARS clutch pencil.
More than the great assortment of art materials however, it was really because of accommodating, friendly, and well-informed staff why I ended up buying more than I intended to that day.
One of my laments about trying to find stuff at National Bookstore and various other outlets that carries art supplies is that the sales people don’t seem to know what they’re selling most of the time. I end up not finding what I want, hence not buying anything and them not selling anything. There are exceptions of course but they’re far and few in between.
This is definitely not the case in Fully Booked, at least not in the branch that I visited.
The staff that fielded my questions knew exactly what I was talking about and when it turns out that they didn’t have the type of material I was looking for they were able to make several recommendations of alternative brands that had similar properties to the one I was looking for. The department head was even kind enough to come over to field my questions when I started asking more technical stuff that the sales person couldn’t answer.
An added treat was that they let me test the materials I was considering buying to make sure I had the right stuff I needed.
At the end of the discussion, I felt I was making a very well informed decision and was quite happy with my selection.
